DEMERITS AND HIGHER FINES ARE COMING FOR YOU DISTRACTED DRIVERS

A private members bill, which passed yesterday after its third reading, will see distracted driving fines increased from $172 up to $250 and 3 demerit points.

Under Alberta’s Distracted Driving legislation there are a few restrictions. When you’re behind the wheel you can’t use your mobile device, which includes MP3 players along with your cellphone, no personal grooming, writing, printing, sketching (yes no drawing while you drive) and no reading printed materials.
