“I felt strongly … this is something that needed to happen” Social Activist Laurie Blakeman Shares Her #BouncePride

Laurie Blakeman  – the leader that put her heart and soul into passing Gay-Straight Alliances, or GSAs , into Alberta schools joined us today in studio.

With the help of Blakeman, Albertan students are now able to form gay-straight-alliances in all public schools funded by the province, which includes private and charter schools.

Laurie has been in many pride parades and shares a memory of one parade when she was able to see her dad from float.
