People can’t stop, won’t stop, ripping off Tim Hortons

Would anyone like a cup of Tim Mortons?

Mike Elgar teaches English in South Korea but is originally from Oakville, Ontario — where the Tim Hortons headquarters are located. He told the Toronto Star he was perusing goods at a street market in Seoul’s Dongdaemun Market when he spotted the yellow packages of “Tim Mortons” instant coffee.

The knock-off coffee even used a similar font as the Tim Hortons logo.

“I was a bit shocked and I had to laugh,” Elgar told the Star.

The Canadian coffee chain is not impressed.

Michelle Robichaud, Tim Hortons’ director of public affairs, told BuzzFeed Canada that while the company is “thrilled to see that the Tim Hortons brand is loved and recognized around the world,” it’s not cool for others to just rip off its name and products.
