The suspect was arrested Tuesday driving a Porsche Panamera shortly after what police say was a drug deal. Police seized $51,000 in cash as proceeds of crime.

Officers recovered drugs with a street value of $57,000 while conducting search warrants of a downtown Edmonton condominium, a home in the Castle Downs neighbourhood, and two residences in Morinville. Police said they found 250 grams of cocaine and nearly 800 fentanyl pills. A prohibited collapsible baton and body armour were also recovered.

Police said they have been investigating the suspect since July.

Khalil Majed, 24, faces several charges, including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime and possession of a weapon.

Rima Ghosn, 21, was also charged with drug-related offences.

The investigation, carried out by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), was assisted by the Edmonton Police Service, Alberta Sheriffs and RCMP from Morinville and St. Albert. ALERT is a province-wide effort to investigate serious organized crime that receives funding from the provincial government.
