A 25-year-old man finds himself on the fast track to the courthouse after he was caught allegedly going quadruple the speed limit in a school zone Friday.

Police, who were actually on blitz to catch speeders at the time,  spotted a blue Dodge truck tearing through the area near 95th Avenue and 153rd Street.

The speed limit in the school zone was 30 kilometres an hour — the vehicle was clocked at 122 km/hr.

“This is extremely concerning,” said Edmonton Staff Sgt. Barry Maron.

“This individual is very lucky that no one was hurt as a result of his thoughtless actions.”

The man, who has a graduated driver’s license, was issued a court summons and has been charged with dangerous driving and careless driving.

He is expected to appear in court next month. Here’s the link the CBC.ca article:  http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/speeding-blitz-nabs-driver-doing-122km-hr-in-school-zone-1.3255949
