IT “finally” happened.

Last night, in the hockey hotbed of Dallas, Texas,  it was third-game’s-the-charm for Connor McDavid.  Wearing the weight of expectation for an entire city, McDavid – who was 9-years-old the last time the Oilers were in the playoffs – scored his first goal.

According to @madeincanada it was exactly 36 years after Wayne Gretzky’s first goal for the Oilers. (Also in his third NHL game.)

(Well, 35 years and 364 days if you want to be picky.)

Now, McDavid trails Gretzky by only 893 goals.

If you missed it last night, here is what we all hope will be the first of thousands of highlights to come…
