  • Ken Egilsson says he buys a new Edmonton Oilers hat for every season. He says that Hockey is his religion.

  • He removes it only to shower and sleep.

  • He’ll also take it off for a funeral or when the national anthem plays.

  • Service Alberta says, “head coverings worn for fashion, work, or even safety reasons need to be removed for a brief moment while a driver’s licence or identification card photo is taken.”

  • Ken said he’s not giving up driving over the issue. If he gets pulled over, he says he’ll have proof that he renewed his licence.

  • “I’m willing to go as high as I can go,” says Egilsson. “I’ll take it all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.”

  • You know what? We think this guy REALLY loves his hat.
