Isn’t it just the worst when your GPS is stuck in 2010 and constantly tries to take you through constriction sites?

Well, there’s a new app coming your way called “Edmonton Smart Travel app.”

“[The app] will provide verbal alerts to drivers about traffic safety issues. It will warn drivers when there are school zones approaching and when there is a change in the speed  limit zone. It also lets them know where there are high collision locations and where they can expect to encounter pedestrians on the roadway.” – Dennis Tetreault with the Office of Traffic Safety.

The app will also tell you about:

  • weather updates
  • construction zone updates
  • allows you to use the app and still follow all the distracted driving laws

We don’t know the official date, but the app will be released at some time mid May.

Hopefully it will easy to use and helpful! if you end up getting it send us a message about how it works and if you like it or not!
