There’s a lot of people that still need help right now. We’ve had numerous people call the show today and yesterday telling their stories. There are families stranded on the highway, and others just finding out that their home has burned down.

All this news is heartbreaking and incredibly sad, but we can’t let this get us down!

Alberta is STRONG.

Alberta is TOUGH.

Alberta is full of LOVE.

Red-cross has already gotten so may volunteers and people asking how they can help that they are overwhelmed.

BUT YOU CAN STILL HELP! Here’s how:

If you want to donate, you can text “REDCROSS” to 30333.

If you have lots of land or space to accept evacuee’s with pets, you can post to this FB page: www.facebook.com/Fort-McMurray-Evacuee

There are lots of FB pages you can go to to help. Here’s a link to one mainly for Edmontonians looking to help: www.facebook.com/groups

Many people have also hit the highways to bring extra fuel to evacuees, water and food. If you are planning on doing this please drive safe and be aware that traffic on the highway is incredibly backed up. (Or so we’ve been told)

You can volunteer to help with RMWB Emergency Social Services through this link: betterimpact.com/Application

Lots of places in Edmonton are also accepting supplies donations to send to families. You can bring supplies to places like The Pint (The Pint, is also offering a free ‘on the house’ meal this week to anyone coming from Fort Mac that has been displaced due to the fires. This free meal is available at any of the Edmonton Locations.) and to Dragon FX.
