Feeling proud this morning!! A local Alberta Brewery in Red Deer called ‘Troubled Monk’ came in second place at The World Beer Cup.

Charlie Bredo entered his beer Open Road American Brown Ale, never thinking it would win.

The World Beer Cup saw 6,596 beers from 1,907 breweries from 55 countries.

The competition is often called “The Olympic Of Beers!”

Second place is not shabby at all!

“This award brings recognition to Alberta breweries to the rest of the world,” says Charlie, “It’s us saying, ‘Hey guys, we have some great beer in Alberta, come check us out.’

CBC has more on Troubled Monk’s big win, plus a full interview. You can read that here: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton

Don’t know about you, but we’ve got a new beer on the list to try!
