A famous Canadian icon, Howe grew up on the prairies playing hockey at a young age. His hockey career spanned 5 decades ( six if you count his 1997 cameo in the International Hockey League.)

Howe played 32 professional hockey seasons, and was also the oldest player to score in the NHL.

He passed away today at age 88.

SportsNet has a wonderful article dedicated to Mr. Hockey, you can read it here: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/hockey-legend-gordie-howe-dead-age-88/

Our thoughts are with his family and friends, rest in peace Gordie Howe.
