Uber is ‘reviewing’ Alberta’s new rules before they decide to resume services in Edmonton.

Yesterday Brian Mason (AB transportation minister) confirmed that a new insurance policy directed for ride services (like Uber) will be available in Alberta starting July 1. (That’s THIS FRIDAY!)

The new policy will require ride-service drivers to upgrade to a class 1, 2 or 4 licence.

If the requirements aren’t met, the companies, not the drivers, will face fines of $50,000 per offence per day.

TappCar has already met all the requirements that the policy has.

Uber says they are doing a full review before they make their final decision.
