Alberta bars will now be able to serve liquor outside on their patios as late as they serve it indoors.

Until now, the last call on the patio was midnight or earlier.

The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission‘s had set a “patio hours” policy, which had restricted live entertainment and liquor service for the last 20 years. The original purpose for it was to restrict the amount of noise at night.

Noise laws are now controlled by the Municipal Government, so if any further restrictions are to be set now that the old ones have been lifted, it’s Edmonton’s City Council that will be making those decisions.

So! With this new news, will you be making the most of the remaining of summer by having some *quiet* late night fun on the patio?
