The Federal Government is planning on setting up new Air Passenger Rights for Canadians.

The rights will make the common difficulties you face when flying easier.

Like retrieving lost or damaged luggage, compensation after being bumped from a flight (due to factors within an airline’s control) and new standards to reduce wait times at security screening.

At the moment, each individual airline in Canada has a different set of rules for how to deal with the above cases. It’s a timely and frustrating task to read through the fine print of each of these airlines policies, so the Federal Government is going to try and set guidelines across the board that ALL the airlines will follow.

AMA, which represents more than 985,000 members, will also be involved, and present its own ideas as part of the process.

Are you a frequent flyer? Do you agree with these future changes?
