Do you spend quality time with your parents?

If so, your time and love could literally be helping them live longer!

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, discovered that loneliness is a HUGE factor in the health decline that comes with old age.

The study found that relationships, especially for our current elderly generations, hold an importance that is much stronger for and elderly person than for a young adult. This human to human connection promotes bonding, a feeling of being needed, and increases serotonin and other endorphins.

This may all seem like common sense to you, but if you don’t see your parents often, you may want to start planning dinners and dates with them!

For those living great distance from relatives, the study mentions putting the elderly in group homes, as it allows a constant community full of human interaction.
