There is a ton of musicians out there, and also tons of venues for local artists to showcase their talent. But it’s not always easy landing a gig. You can spend day in and day out knocking on doors trying to find a venue that will even give you a few minutes to perform on a stage.

Corey Fox owns a venue in Utah called the Velour Live Music Club, and has been known to have helped many artists and bands who are just starting out by providing them a place to perform. He even helped Neon Trees and the Imagine Dragons when they were just getting started…

Corey has had something called chronic kidney disease ever since he was a young boy, and recently went public in the search for a kidney donor. To his very suprise, Brandon Robbins, the lead singer of the indie rock group The Moth & The Flame graciously offered to give him a kidney. This was an act of kindness to repay Corey Fox for giving his band a chance to perform at his venue back in the day when the group was just starting off. Brandon went for testing and turned out his kidney was a perfect match for Corey! The two went for surgery in December and plan to spend the next few months recovering together! I love stories like this, how heartwarming!
