Floss, Exercise and Save!

As a result, you will be financially fit, stress free and healthy. Really, you say.  Those are the words of Canadian author and financial planner, David Chilton (seen on TV show Dragons’ Den)  who is the author of the original book The Wealthy Barber and now his latest book, “The Wealthy Barber Returns.”

I just recently picked up his latest book to read and now I pass it on to you. If you are anything like me, you like to spend money on nice things. Don’t we all want to do that.  However, being married to a spend thrift, I often am shunned into not spending.  My wife is a saver.  As is my 14 yr. old son.  He already wants to invest his money in GICs.  Wow! He is far ahead of me when I was 14 yrs. old.  David Chilton would love both of them for their thriftiness.  His whole philosophy is to save, save, save, and the spending will be much more enjoyable when the time is right. He also suggests to have a balance in spending and saving. I say he is indeed right. But saving doesn’t sound like fun –does it! (OOPs did I say that?)

I have to admit that when I save up for something instead of using a line of credit or even a credit card to make a purchase (that is a want not a need) then  making the purchase is a lot more fun than paying off a loan or credit card. Now read on.

David Chilton writes so the common person like you and I can understand the world of finance. His humour and common sense approach will make you want to change your spending ways and the handling of your money in order to have a better life.

I had trouble putting the book down because he was describing me in many ways and actually that was a good thing.  Don’t you hate it when someone tells you the truth about yourself.  Can you handle the truth?  The truth is for the most part the majority of us rely on credit too much, seek satisfaction through the purchase of things and do not save properly. How is that for the truth?

Stress is brought on for the most part due to poor financial management. So this year, you are going to change that by first reading my recommended book, underline  inside the book what pertains to you and take action on a new savings plan that will bring joy and happiness to you now and forever.  Trust me. Trust David Chilton and more importantly trust yourself in your newly found financial strategy . Sounds like a good plan-eh!
