Drake has finally released his highly anticipated music project, More Life which features collaborations with Kanye West, 2 Chainz, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Young Thug, Travi$ Scott, UK Grime rappers Skepta, Giggs and more!

The 22 song playlist is is now available for streaming everywhere.

Drake released the new project during Episode 39 of his OVO Sound Radio program.

Drake’s manager and OVO radio host Oliver El-Khatib opened the show thanking fans for their patience on More Life. Drake called into the show to also help introduce the album telling fans, “This project is just a celebration of the fact that we’re still here, still going.”

The 22 song playlist was produced by Noah “40” Shebib, Boi-1da, T-Minus, Murda Beatz, Frank Duke.

Not surprisingly, Twitter has reacted strongly to the new Drake project with most feeling like this is some of his best work to date.

Drake also dips into the UK hip hop scene with the tracks ‘Skepta Interlude’ and ‘No Long Talk’ featuring Skepta and Giggs respectively.

Three weeks ago during an interview with DJ Semtex, Drake spoke about both artists. On Skepta Drake said, “I felt like he should just be bigger than he was. I think that the best rappers in the world are in London. I just think that the complexities and the cadences and the way that they piece music together… That’s been my formula for life is like ‘ok I’m gonna do the club sh*t but I’m also gonna give you bars.’”  Drake also revealed that along with the two songs off More Life, Drake has another for Giggs’ project and another one lying around. Take a listen to that whole interview below.

In January, on the opening night of the European leg of his Boy Meets World Tour in Amsterdam, Drake revealed that More Life would be released before he came back to the city on February 26th; the release was of course then delayed.

At the same show, he teased one of the More Life songs.

Initially, Drake said he would release the project in December but delayed it for unknown reasons.

More Life is actually a playlist that Drake did in collaboration with Apple Music as he explained during a special birthday edition of his OVO Sound Radio last October,

“I’m off like mixtapes, I want to do a playlist. I want to give you a collection of songs that become the soundtrack to your life, so this More Life: The Playlist. Like I said, dropping in December. All original music from me. You might hear some tunes from the family on there, but I’m just really excited. I had a great tour, I had a great summer. And most people, I guess, would like go probably take a break. But for me I just want to get right back to it. Be with the people again.”

During that episode, Drake released three songs,  Two Birds One Stone, Sneakin (featuring 21 Savage) and Fake Love; the latter of which appears on More Life.

He explained why he wanted to do this playlist in an interview with University of Kentucky head coach John Calipari and the latest episode of his “Cal Cast” podcast,

“To keep people excited, give them new music, let them know I’m still hungry…I’m doing it to be remembered as a forward thinker. I want to be remembered… as an emotion-evoking artist.”

In the same podcast episode, Drake revealed that he created More Life to “help bridge the gap between his major releases.”

Drake has been very prolific when it comes to releasing new music and there is a reason for that: he doesn’t want to miss out on anything in the music industry,

“At the end of the day, It’s all about the time you’re willing to put in.  And, my biggest fear is always when I’m not doing it, there’s someone else that’s doing it.  That’s my biggest fear in life.  When I’m not doing it.  When I take a night off for my personal life. When I choose to decompress or relax…not in the back of my mind, in the front of my mind, my biggest fear is if somebody’s not relaxing right now and they’re going to stumble upon something. When you get in the studio you have these moments that ultimately propel your career, you have to ask yourself how many of those did I miss by not going in on this given night or that given night. Because creating music is sometimes all about timing.  It’s all about me texting this producer at this certain time… It is truly stars aligning, music is. And It’s scary to think of all the (opportunities) you miss because you didn’t sit in there. You know? So I try to not let myself have that fear.”
