WATCH: First Trailer For Tupac Shakur Biopic "ALL EYEZ ON ME"

Just in time for #ThrowbackThursday Lionsgate has released the trailer for the Hollywood retelling of the career and life of Tupac Shakur. ALL EYEZ ON ME hits theatres June 16, 2017!

ALL EYEZ ON ME chronicles the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip hop artist, actor, poet and activist, as well as his imprisonment and prolific, controversial time at Death Row Records. Against insurmountable odds, Shakur rose to become a cultural icon whose career and persona both continue to grow long after his passing.

Here is some interesting casting tidbits.

Jamal Woolard who played Biggie Smalls in the NOTORIOUS(2009) movie about The Notorious B.I.G. is set to play the character again.

Demetrius Shipp Jr will play the role of Tupac Shakur. He was given the role with only one previous acting credit due to his likeness of the late Shakur. He attended many acting classes throughout the making of the film and studied much of Tupac’s life!

His father Demetrius Shipp Sr actually worked with Tupac on the album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory for the song “Toss It Up“.

ALL EYEZ ON ME and Notorious are two separate retelling of events that went on in the music industry of the 90’s. Although they share similar characters and events you can expect them to differ based on who is telling the story. Two separate studios behind the two films.
