Pets in the Park, Edmonton’s Official Pet Festival, is celebrating its 25th year on June 25th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hawrelak Park! This family-friendly event offers something for everyone, including four-legged family members and young animal lovers – and it’s home to Edmonton’s only all-ages, pet friendly beer garden!

Make sure your pack doesn’t fur-get to visit any of these activities at the park – it’s paws-ibly one of the best family outings you’ll have this summer!

Check out all of this year’s fun below!

1. Play in the Kids Zone – Children can channel their inner bunny rabbit and hop around the kids zone in two bouncy castles, or challenge friends to a race through the inflatable obstacle course! Youngsters won’t miss out on the fun either, with a toddler playground to spring and slide through.

2. Dachshund Races –These pups won’t let their lack of height slow them down! Cheer on your favourite four-legged athlete at the dachshund races in the northeast corner of the park at 1:30 p.m.

3. Get Your Face Painted – Kids can choose from a variety of fun designs to become their favourite creature or character with face painting at the EHS Humane Education tent!

4. Visit Our First Responders – Climb into a firetruck and meet real-life animal heroes! We’ll have Firefighters and our own Animal Protection Officers on-site where your child can experience how these heroes make a difference every day.

5. Meet Your Favourite Characters – Go on an interactive adventure with your favourite princesses or superheroes at the Entertainment stage! Sing and dance along with Elsa, Ana and Olaf during the Frozen Live performance at 12:00 p.m. Swing into action and save the day with Spidey and Batgirl at 2:00 p.m.

And it’s all for a good cause! The Edmonton Humane Society relies on Pets in the Park every year to help take care of thousands of Edmonton’s homeless animals each year and are dependent on the money raised at Pets in the Park to keep up their good work. You can make a difference in these animals’ lives with the Pets in the Park Walk or Fun Run! Learn more and register HERE!
