It is a new school year.  Happy new school year!!!!! I discovered this author years ago and have followed her over the years using her tips on raising my children and teaching others. It is the type of book that will give you an opportunity to learn to enjoy your children more as opposed to setting up new battle rounds.  More importantly it will give you the kind of tools needed to enhance your parenting and enjoy your children.

So often people think parenting is about controlling your children and making them into the perfect child.  After all if you have a perfect child you must be a perfect parent.  Not true!! Instead we should be empowering our children and help them make wise decisions and become more responsible for their actions.

As Barbara Coloroso says in her book kids are worth it because they are, not because they produced or behaved in a way we want them to. Read this book with the intent to better understand yourself and to understand that the child you brought into this world is a gift to you.  Treat yourself and your child as precious human beings. Together living in the same household should be an exhilarating experience. Go for the ride. The answer is more an approach to parenting rather than a collection of techniques.

There are no quick fixes, easy answers, or recipes for parenting, but Barbara Coloroso believes that you as a parent  have the tools you need to be a good parents. You just have to find them.
