GF BF is the new storm coming out of YEG.

 

The title of the groups name is nothing other then it sounds, a fabulous girlfriend boyfriend duo making killer music, right here in Edmonton. The GF component is a girl by the name of Nova Rockafeller, she’s been making a splash in the Edmonton rap scene for a few years now!

 

 

Made in Gold was released in 2015 when Rockafeller got signed with Island Records in LA!

 

Nova Rockafeller has come a very long way in her career, her main inspiration has come from her spending lots of time moving between group homes growing up in Edmonton, and often sleeping at the Edmonton Youth Emergency Shelter. Since her solo tracks, she’s now teamed up with her love, her BF to the GF BF duo, Tom MacDonald.

MacDonald has been working in the hip-hop scene with his main project Hangover Gang. MacDonald is also local to Edmonton, but currently living is LA, putting most of his time into his new project with Rockafeller, GF BF. I’m in love with the photo above by the way.

 

The two have apparently been friends for over 10 years, however they’ve just tapped into the romantic side of things for around a year now. Very adorable if you ask me.

 

Dropped November 17th is their spankin’ new track “I’m Not Well”.
