If it’s felt like you haven’t heard from the One Direction boys (individually) in a little while, you aren’t alone, but thankfully that wait is over as Zayn has released brand new song called, “Let Me”.

Needless to say fans of the singer are REALLY into the song…

Not surprisingly, fans immediately began to wonder if the song had anything to do with his ex Gigi Hadid (the two broke up earlier this year). Especially with lyrics like…

“Baby, let me be your man (let me be your man) / So I can love you (I can love you) / And if you let me be your man (let me be your man) / Then I’ll take care of you, you (I can love you) / For the rest of my life, for the rest of us / For the rest of my life, for the rest of yours”

This morning, Zayn did an interview with Nick Grimshaw of BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast Show, and he explained that while in the past he’s given people a heads up when he’s written something about them, he feels that it isn’t always the best thing to do and can sometimes be awkward,

“It’s not always the wisest thing to do, it just complicates things so I have tended not to do that anymore, I just keep it to myself…it’s probably a little bit more embarrassing.”

He added, “I’ll be having a conversation with somebody, maybe a little argument with them and then [I’ll] throw it in their face: ‘Well I wrote that song about you so see you later’.”

“Let Me” will appear on Zayn’s forthcoming project and he told the BBC Radio 1 host how this upcoming project will be different from his debut, Mind of Mine, “I’m excited to see what people think of it. I think my confidence has grown in the last year and a half…It’s a bit different to my last record in terms of, it’s matured.”

Zayn had been teasing fans over the last few weeks that he had something coming…

This has to be my favourite Zayn record since “Pillowtalk”. It’s not that I didn’t like, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” and “Dusk Till Dawn”, I just think that sexy, soulful R&B vibe was missing from those previous records and is back, prominent as ever on “Let Me”.

This song instantly gave me an 80s, Phil Collins, love ballad vibe. The beat also reminded me a little bit of the Tina Turner’s classic, “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” I know that sounds weird, but just listen to the opening beat…

This isn’t the first that we’re hearing from Zayn musically in 2018. In fact, last month, a song he did with R&B singer August Alsina had leaked on the Internet; Zayn then decided to release the record himself, for free,

Take a listen to Zayn’s new single, “Let Me” and (pardon the pun), let me know what you think!
