So it turns out that Gwyneth Paltrow’s imaginary background in health and medicine has come back to haunt her… Her company ‘Goop’ has agreed to pay $145,000 in civil penalties. Prosecutors in California announced the settlement on Tuesday after a task-force investigation found some of the health claims were unfounded.

The settlement involves advertisements stating that by female insertion, ‘Goop’s Jade Egg’ and ‘Rose Quartz Egg’ could balance hormones, regulate menstrual cycles and improve bladder control. Of course, there is ZERO evidence to prove that this actually works. In addition to the penalty, the company will provide refunds to customers who ask.

Note to self: Stick to medical/health practices that are backed by research and actual doctors!
