On Thursday, the Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors 114-110 to capture their first ever NBA Championship. On Monday, the entire city of Toronto was ready to celebrate with the championship parade through downtown.

Many reports have said that as many as 2 million people flooded the downtown core. The parade route takes about 1 hour to walk (according to Google Maps) but took the team roughly 5 hours to complete, due to the high volume of people along the route.

Drake was going hard…

Politicians were booed… and cheered…

Marc Gasol chugged wine…

And Kawhi got the last laugh…

Much better than last time ’round…

From what we know right now, there have been multiple injuries but no deaths. Thank goodness. This is a prime example of how one person can ruin something for everyone else. A dark cloud over an otherwise spectacular and historical event. Follow City News Edmonton for more.
