This global pandemic has everyone staying at home and, if you’re anything like me, watching a lot more TV then you’re used to!

The good news is that there is non-stop content from Netflix, Amazon Video, Crave, and of course, good ol’ cable television! The even better news is that one of our favourite TV shows is reuniting for a COVID-19 special.

NBC announced that the cast of “Parks and Recreation” will be reuniting for a half-hour scripted episode; set to air on April 30th. It will help raise money for Feeding America’s COVID-19 response fund.

Most of the original cast members are on board including: Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Lowe and Adam Scott to name a few.

It’s been five years since “Parks and Recreation” ended their seven season run. This episode is going to focus on Leslie Knope’s (Poehler) determination to stay connected to her friends through the social distancing period.

The show’s co-creator, Michael Shur spearheaded the project, stating that he sent out a hopeful e-mail to the cast who all responded to him in 45 minutes! He went on to say that the “old ‘Parks and Rec’ team has put together one more 30-minute slice of (quarantined) Pawnee life and we hope everyone enjoys it. And donates!”

I’m so excited!

Happy watching!
