While talking with Vogue, Selena hints at retirement, “It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’” she reveals.

Selena continues, “‘Lose You to Love Me’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people, it still wasn’t enough. I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going.”

Selena also opens up about social media, and what made her decide there years ago that she was done with it, “I woke up one morning and looked at Instagram, like every other person, and I was done.  I was tired of reading horrible things. I was tired of seeing other people’s lives. After that decision, it was instant freedom. My life in front of me was my life, and I was present, and I could not have been more happy about it.”

Selena now has her assistant post photos and text to her both her Instagram and Twitter.  Selena says, “Everyone always asks me, ‘Are you secretly on; are you lying?’ and I’m like, ‘I have no reason to lie.'”

Selena also tells Vogue ‘if she does decide to make another album, it’ll be different however, she’d like to spend more time producing and giving herself a real shot at acting.’  Selena released her debut album, Kiss & Tell, in 2009, released two more albums under ‘Selena Gomez & the Scene,’ and three additional solo albums.
