In addition to his new single, Shawn also released an accompanying music video, directed by Jay Martin, and filmed across several days in Toronto and Austin, Texas.  Co-written by Shawn, Jonah Shy, and Scott Harris, this is Shawn’s first single of 2022 and the follow-up to ‘It’ll Be Okay.’

Following the release of ‘When You’re Gone,’ Shawn sat down with Sirius XM’s ‘The Morning Mash Up’ where he opened up about his recent breakup, “I’m trying to not be too hard on myself about the feelings and giving myself grace.  I think a big one for me was realizing that there’s so many people in my life that I can rely on.  I don’t just have to put all of my, you know, hardship onto one person.”

Shawn also admits that after his breakup, he’s ‘learning how to trust people in his life again,’ “Instead of like, just calling one person I had now six people I could call and like balancing out that, he says.

And to help deal with his anxiety, Shawn tells the Morning Mash Up that ‘meditation has truly changed his life,’ “I think the thing that I, that I don’t touch on enough is how extreme my anxiety was at one point in my life and my anxiety was completely controlling my life.  Truly the one thing that changed my life and changed the trajectory of my life was meditation.  It’s, it’s actually really simple… And so that’s a big one for me and I’ll, and I’ll keep saying it forever because I, I feel like I owe meditation so much,” he explains.
