Today marks the province’s first Alberta Day, which may lead many Albertans to question, “How can I celebrate?” Alberta is hosting multiple regional activities to celebrate this occasion, including fireworks shows and a free concert by Brett Kissel in Edmonton and Calgary.

The province says 32 cities or towns will host Alberta Day events this year.

Edmonton’s celebrations started today at the Alberta Legislative Grounds with an Opening Ceremony, but the festivities continue until Saturday, Sept 3rd.

The Friday events kick off from 4 to 8 pm, featuring performances by local artists, food trucks, and more. Saturday’s events start from noon to 10 pm, featuring a concert by Canadian singer Brett Kissel at 8:30 pm and spectacular fireworks at 9:30 pm to close the celebration.
