Winter Whyte Light Up 2022 

Join the Old Strathcona Business Assocation this Saturday as they light up Whyte Ave and McIntyre Park to kick off this holiday season. This is the 5th annual Winter Whyte Light Up which features family-friendly outdoor activities, street performers, tasty hot drinks, fire pits, treats available for purchase and more! The Winter Whyte Light Up itself is free for all to enjoy and runs from 4 – 7pm.

Magic of Lights at RAD Torque Raceway 

The Canadian Tire Magic of Lights makes its return this weekend with over a million festive LED-lights to celebrate the magic of the holiday season. Admission is charged per car starting at $30/car. The Magic of Lights regular hours are 5 – 9pm on Sundays – Thursday, and 5 – 10pm Friday & Saturday. For more information – see the site here.

ICE District Skating Rink 

The brand-new outdoor skating rink is now open in the heart of downtown Edmonton! The rink is open daily from 10 am until 10 pm with free access to the public. As of now, skate rentals aren’t available on location yet – so don’t forget to bring your skates from home. Pro tip: If you need a cheap pair of skates, check out your local thrift store!

The Polar Express: PJ Party 

All aboard! The TELUS World of Science presents its annual screening of the beloved holiday film, The Polar Express. Bring the family and enjoy the classic film in your festive PJ’s! Not to mention that this screening with be on Alberta’s largest movie screen (trust me, it’s HUGE). Can’t make it this weekend? Don’t worry, there will be multiple screenings of The Polar Express throughout November & December. Get tickets here!

A Christmas Carol at the Citadel 

This Saturday kicks off the opening weekend for A Christmas Carol at the Citadel Theatre. This adaptation by David van Belle tells of the beloved tale of a miserable old man who is greeted by three ghosts to change his ways. This event is family-friendly but is also recommended for ages 6+. Grab your tickets here!
