Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are set to return to the screen in a follow-up to “Freaky Friday”.

Confirming the news during an interview on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show, Lohan expressed her excitement about reprising her role. When questioned about specifics, she chose to remain tight-lipped, stating, “I won’t say that yet. I don’t want to say too much.” However, she did reveal that Curtis would also be making a comeback, affirming, “We are both excited. I’m gonna speak for Jamie.”

The original “Freaky Friday” was adapted from Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel, portraying the story of a mother and daughter who swap bodies. The 2003 film, a remake of Disney’s 1976 version, starred Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster. Additionally, a television movie featuring Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffmann was released in 1995.

Lohan, now 37, has built a notable career beyond “Freaky Friday”, with roles in the 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap” and the iconic 2004 film “Mean Girls”.

Meanwhile, Curtis, 65, known for her roles in horror classics such as “Halloween”, “The Fog”, and “Prom Night”, has recently diversified her portfolio with acclaimed performances in various genres, including her Oscar-winning supporting role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. She has also showcased her comedic talents in films like “Trading Places” and “A Fish Called Wanda”.
