The German city of Gelsenkirchen will honour Taylor Swift by temporarily renaming itself ‘Swiftkirchen’ during her upcoming concerts in July. The city’s mayor and local authorities have embraced the idea, with signs already unveiled and more surprises planned for Swift’s fans. Additionally, a “Taylor Swift tram” is travelling around the neighbourhood, and the “Anti-Hero” singer will receive a bright stone on Gelsenkirchen’s Walk of Fame. The Veltins Arena in Schalke is sold out for the concerts. Swift will spend three nights in Amsterdam, July 4-6 before reaching Gelsenkirchen. She’ll then perform two nights in Zürick and two in Milan.
