Recently, a UK student named Georgia was vacationing in Crete, Greece. The 25-year-old woman was alone on the beach when two men approached her and asked her out for a drink. That’s when the unthinkable happened.

When Georgia declined the offer, one of the men violently grabbed her arm and tried to pull her away. Then, out of nowhere, a straggly stray black dog ran up to the men and started barking furiously until they backed away and fled.

Georgia knew this stray dog saved her life, and the two formed an immediate connection. However, Georgia was heartbroken when she had to fly back to the UK and leave her savior, who she named Pepper, behind.

Two weeks later, Georgia was back on the island of Crete on a mission to find and adopt Pepper — but her unexpected journey was just beginning. In the end, it took Georgia five weeks, three trips back-and-forth, thousands of dollars, and a 21-day quarantine to bring Pepper back to the UK. And just when she thought her mission was complete, Pepper had another big surprise in store… but you have to keep reading to find out!
