Despite what may have happened in 2018, 2019 is sure looking up for Ariana Grande!

According to Billboard, Ariana Grande has officially surpassed both Taylor Swift AND Katy Perry and is now the ‘most-subscribed female artist on YouTube.’  Billboard writes, “Ariana Grande now has more than 32.5 million subscribers, compared to Swift’s 32.28 million and Perry’s 32.24 million.  7 Rings” was the biggest debut of 2019, with 23.6 million views in its first 24 hours. Her newest hit video, “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” had the second-largest premiere of the year with 21.9 million views in 24 hours.”

It was just a week ago that Ariana dropped her latest studio album, Thank U, Next and is making its way up the Billboard 200 Albums chart to land at number one.  And according to Rolling Stone, 8 out of the 11 most popular songs on Spotify all belong to Ariana Grande.

It’s no surprise that the events that happened in 2018 had a huge impact on Ariana and all emotion was poured into this album – which is why it’s amazing! There was the loss of her ex, Mac Miller, her recent breakup with Pete Davidson and more.  In an interview with our friend Zach Sang, Ariana explained that there were two alternate versions of ‘Thank U, Next,’ one without any names, “I was also trying to be protective.  In my relationship [with Pete] at the time, things were like up and down and on and off, and so I didn’t know what was going to happen and then we got back together, so I had to make a different version of it, and then we broke up again, so we ended up going with that verse.  There’s a version where I was getting married, there’s a version where I’m not getting married, there’s a version with nothing—we’re not talking about anything,” she continued. “But we all knew that the first version was gonna be the version we ultimately went with.”

It’s only been six months since Ariana dropped Sweetener and in my opinion, this is her best album yet!
