Election day is Monday! Here’s what you need to know about casting your ballot:

GET REGISTERED TO VOTE — You can do this online using the Voter Registration Service, or by calling 1-800-463-6868. You can also register in-person or update your personal information at your polling station on Monday. (You must be 18 years of age, have valid ID, proof of residence)

WHERE TO VOTE — Locate the nearest polling station in your riding on the Elections Canada website by entering your postal code. The site will redirect you to the nearest polling station, likely a school or community centre. Find out who’s running in your riding by clicking on the “Who are the candidates in my electoral district?” option.

WHEN TO VOTE — In our time zone (GMT), polls will be open from 7:30am until 7:30pm on Monday, October 21st. By law, eligible voters must have three consecutive hours to vote on election day. If your work hours do not allow for this, your employer must give you time off to either leave work to vote or adjust your hours.

That’s all you need to know! Happy voting!
