See the world (virtually) this year.

For the first time in the Edmonton Heritage Festival’s 46 year history, there won’t be any on-site pavilions for you to explore, enjoy, and sample tasty foods at. But you’ll still be able to learn about different cultures and even order some of those delicious foods!

The Heritage Festival is going digital this year. From August 1 – 3, head to heritagefest.ca to explore the virtual map and choose a pavilion to visit. Each country page is unique, and you’ll find performances, recipes, photos, history of the culture and their association, and more! You can even get in some shopping when you visit the Multicultural Market.

Traditionally, donations for the Edmonton Food Bank are collected on-site at the Festival. This year, you can drop-off non-perishable food items on Saturday, August 1 from 10 am – 4 pm in the Southgate Mall parking lot, or at the Edmonton Food Bank warehouse (11508 120 St).

August is Multicultural Month in Edmonton, so on Sunday, August 2, the Festival will host an online “virtual mosaic” made up of photos submitted by anyone. Share photos with the tag #VirtualHF for your chance to win one of ten prizes of a $100 gift card to Save-OnFoods!

All month long, order authentic cultural food from over 35 participating restaurants on the Heritage Festival’s website. You’ll be able to place your order online and pick-up at the restaurant. Easy, good for the community, and you won’t miss out on some of the city’s best foods!
