Today, our Edmonton Oilers wrap up training camp with a scrimmage in honour of their teammate, Colby Cave.
Colby passed away in April due to a brain bleed at the young age of 25. He played 44 games for the Oilers but, left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.

The team decided that they wanted to do something special for Colby and feel like he was right there with them.

Today’s scrimmage will see all the players donning number 12, the number that Colby wore as a proud Oiler. The jerseys worn for the scrimmage will be auctioned off at a later date with proceeds going to the Colby Cave Memorial Fund.

This fund supports community programs, mental health initiative and helps provide underprivileged children get access to sports.

The scrimmage starts at 1 PM and can be watched on any of the Edmonton Oilers social media pages:

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and their website.

Edmonton is getting a Drive-In and Beer Garden for fans to watch the Playoff games!
That sounds a little ironic, right?

Fans can’t pack into the arena this year to watch all the hockey action but, last week, the Edmonton Oilers Entertainment Group announced that they’re creating an outdoor, socially-distanced drive-in venue (with Beer Gardens) for fans to watch the Playoff action.

The venue has been dubbed the “FanFest Zone”.

It will be set up where the Baccarat Casino once was! Intersection of 104 Ave and 101 Street.

As of right now, the Oilers are planning to air 80 scheduled games but may add more if it proves to be popular among fans.

Hey, Edmonton, let’s be smart about this!
