There is always something to do and see in our city… Festivals are in full force and the sun is always shining – with the occasional  we are having a beautiful summer!

Living here for two years, I can’t believe I just discovered Fort Edmonton Park. What an amazing place in the heart of the city! If you haven’t been since you were a little kid – it’s time to go back! Bring a date, bring your family, plan an event, stay the night and go back in time and re-discover the amazing history of Edmonton. It’s fun for the kids and it’s super romantic for us big kids.

All aboard! As soon as you jump on the Yukon and Pacific Railway you feel like you’re in Back to The Future! History is fun, people! The volunteers and the team at Fort Ed are all very educated and take on the roles based on real life individuals who lived in the 1800’s! I was totally entertained!

The authentic 95 year-old steam engine has been at Fort Edmonton Park since 1977!

Original street cars, wagon rides, stagecoach and pony rides – I did it all! One of the biggest changes is that with your admission it includes unlimited rides – so like I said, go for the entire day!

Now if you are looking for a little romance and a great date night – head to the Capitol Theatre to watch classic movies and the very cool 4-D short film “Northern Light” – it is truly magical!

Travel back in time to the Capitol Theatre to see old movies on the big screen!

I loved, loved, loved the Mahogany Bar – located in the stunning Hotel Selkirk. Once you wiggle through 1846, high five some pioneers in 1885, dance on the street car in 1905 – you can eat your way through 1920 with a cocktail and delicious bite at the Hotel!

I have already planned my next visit when my family comes to town for the opening of Rogers Place – The Hotel is such a gem and we’ll all be staying at Fort Edmonton Park to eat, drink and play!

Thanks for having me!

Love your guts, see you soon!
