Family Day Events In Edmonton!!

HAPPY FAMILY DAY!!! Wondering what to do on this holiday Monday? Not to worry!! Here’s a list of things to do in Edmonton today.

Family Day at Alberta Legislature

Hit the fifth floor of the legislature building between 11AM – 4PM and participate in the history hunt, games and dancing, a build-your-own legislature, and a chance to meet Rocky The Ram. It’s free!!!

Snowman Festival in Morinville

Take a little trip north of Edmonton to Morinville from 10AM – 4:30PM for their Snowman Festival! Dress warm and do some tobogganing, a family dance, curling, ice fishing, snowman building, ice sculpting, hockey and more!!! And its free!

Fire And Ice with the St. Albert Fire Fighters

Get educated on fire safety in a fun way, NOON – 4PM, with kid’s firefighter obstacle course, firehose tug of war, skating and pond hockey, plus a fire artist performance and horse-drawn sleigh rides. Hot chocolate, coffee, free hot dogs and other goodies will be available, and fire pits for you to relax at! Go to: Lacombe Lake Park, 151 McKenney Ave., St. Albert !!

Family Day at City Hall

From NOON – 4PM you can catch live performances by Hoffman & Brown, Nikolai the Juggler, and a Concrete Theatre performance of The Early Bloomers at City Hall!!! Churchill Square will be filled with games, crafts and balloon sculptures. There are hayrides around the square too, AND strap on some skates and take a spin on the City Hall ice rink!

Edmonton Valley Zoo

Bundle up and go visit the Edmonton Valley Zoo with the fam from NOON – 4PM! Take part in the Polar Bear craft table or participate in the Animal Families scavenger hunt, and visit their FREE photo booth to keep that family memory.

Free Skating

Yaaaas! Free skating at Hawrelak, Jackie Parker, Victoria and Castle Downs parks. Hawrelak LAKE is closed, but skaters are welcome on the Hawrelak Park alternate ice surface. AND check out the Freezeway skating trail next to the Victora Park Oval.

Reuse Centre

The Reuse Centre is hosting a Family Day Open House event where you can participate in reuse crafting workshop, shop through the treasure trove of items or take a tour and learn more about reusing!!! NOON – 3PM!

Telus World Of Science Edmonton

Head down for the LAST DAY of the Beyond Rubik’s Cube exhibition PLUS a meet and greet with the Edmonton Eskimos from 1PM – 3PM, and all of the regular exhibits and activities!

Stollery Family Day Classic

It’s the last day of this year’s tournament, and it’s being held at the Terwillegar Rec Centre. To date, the Stollery Family Day Classic hockey tournament raised over $1.5 million for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and Hockey Edmonton Development!

Art Gallery Of Alberta

The Art Gallery of Alberta is inviting families to enjoy exhibitions and art activities for free today!!! The Gallery is open from 11AM – 5PM, with last entry at 4PM. Visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities themed after their current exhibitions!
