A 22,000km Car-Free Bike Path Across Canada Is Opening In 2017

The longest network of recreational trails in the entire world is coming to CANADA!

The Great Trail is a 22,000km trail that goes country-wide! It is so far 87% complete and will be finished by 2017, which is just in time for Canada’s 150th anniversary!

They’ve been working on this trail since 1992 (which is crazy), but the trail isn’t just for bikes! It is exclusively for recreational purposes and only allows bikes, hikers and horseback riders in the summer and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
