If You catch the virus while pregnant, it will severely affect your baby.

Don’t freak out…but there’s a scary virus that seems to be spreading quickly.

  • The mosquito-borne Zika virus is ‘spreading explosively,’ and could infect three to four million people this year” – World Health Organization.

  • Majority of people who are infected won’t have any symptoms. If they do it will be symptoms like headache, rash, fever and eye irritation.

  • The big risk is people who are infected will pass it to someone who is pregnant. And in this case, it seems the virus causes birth defects. The biggest one is causing the baby to have an abnormally small head.

  • So far not a lot of decisions or rules have been set on how the virus is to be dealt with.
