EPS said in a statement yesterday that they are searching for a suspect from a hate crime incident that took place in early November on an underground LRT station platform.

According to the Police the incident took place on the University LRT Station platform on Tuesday, November 8 at about 8:20 p.m.

 

Police say, based on their investigation, that the suspect approached two woman who were wearing hijabs and took a rope from his pockets that looked like a noose, and told them “This is for you!”

He then proceeded to sing Oh Canada to them.

 

The suspect in question is described as:

  • Caucasian male, believed to be in his 60s
  • Thin build
  • Balding, with grey hair
  • Wearing glasses
