Recently my family and I visited Italy which included a stop in Rome of course. To our surprise a throng of people were watching a concert led by the great singer Andrea Bocelli and a host of others as we were casually walking by the Vatican. Then to our surprise again, Pope Francis came out and paraded around the thousands of cheering people to whom he later addressed.

Wow!  Right then and there I said, I have to learn more about this charismatic man who has developed a lot of praise around the world for his humility and wisdom. Oh yes, if you don’t mind the old expression, he seems to be one cool Pope I might add!

I purchased the book entitled, Pope Francis when I got home and in it was a series of questions and answers from the conversations and interviews he shared with the authors. I really have to say I was not only impressed by his answers to tough uncomfortable questions but I really felt he was speaking to me and I really got to know him better. He came out as a thoughtful, witty, learned and introspective man-one whose actions and words reflect his deeply rooted humility.

As a great positive world leader (which we seem to need these days) that he has already become, it made me realize after I finished reading this book that if you really want to be inspired and filled with wisdom and understanding about leaders, pick up an autobiography of your favorite person you admire or get to know a leader or actor or famous person better by reading about their life.  Then and only then I promise you will become greatly informed about that person inside and out. Everyone has a story!  Yet, more importantly, you will find out the truth about what really makes a good leader/person etc., and the values they possess, which could inspire you.

Give it a try.  Pick up a book.  Keep reading. You never know how a good book will move you!
