Here’s some info you may already know, the rides at the Calgary Stampede and K-Days are often from the same company. They just cart them across the province for the different “midways.”

Why does this matter?

BECAUSE THE ZIPPER WAS RETIRED FROM THE CALGARY STAMPEDE!

Which can only mean, we may not see it at Edmonton’s K-Days either…

“It really was unique in it’s nature and we are going to miss it.

It was really one of the quintessential amusement rides.

It was just a great thrill. But nothing last forever I guess.”

– Scooter Korek,  VP of client relations with North American Midway Entertainment

The Zipper is kinda like a long oblong Ferris-wheel with 12 locked in chairs that flip and spin upside down.

It was designed 50 years ago, but the company that manufactured it no longer exists, so it’s become hard for the North American Midway to get parts to fix and update the ride to safety standards.

BUT! There’s a company called Chance Rides who say they could help…and possibly bring the Zipper back in the next years!

What K-Days ride is YOUR favorite?? OR, are you the nauseous type…(That’s ok, you can hold us ride junkies bags 😉 we’ll pay ya in cotton candy)
