The word of the day is LIT, and that’s the best word to describe the audience and incredible performance the Weeknd put on last night. As soon as he rose from the stage through smoke and lasers, the arena erupted in excitement for the Starboy himself. The stage was pretty cool,  it looked like a space ship and moved throughout the show and at times, it felt like it was inches above our heads … the wow-factor has definitely come a long way since his first show in the YEG at West Edmonton Mall!

The Weeknd - Edmonton 2017

He sang all of his bangers on the album ‘Starboy’ from “Can’t Feel My Face” to “I Feel It Coming” and everything in between. French Montana was one of the opening acts and fans were a little disappointed when he only sang a couple of lines from his song “Unforgettable” – but little did we know he would join The Weeknd on stage midway through the show to perform the whole song together. And yes, it was lit! The energy inside the arena was at a high from beginning to end and all of the performers, including the Weeknd, reminded us that we were the loudest they’d seen all tour, which proves Edmonton is the best (not only in the west).

The Weeknd has now performed in Edmonton on three occasions, at WEM, Rexall Place and now at Rogers Place and each time he did not disappoint and proved that he truly is a Starboy.
