Get into the Christmas spirit in Edmonton! Check out these festivals, who knew our city had all these to offer. So many of them ARE FREE!

 

1.) ALL IS BRIGHT FESTIVAL

 

  • COST: FREE YO
  • WHERE: 124St between 102 Ave & 108 Ave
  • WHEN: TONIGHT!! Nov. 25th 3pm – 8 pm

 

Check out this video from last year with some awesome highlights, it’s a fabulous way to get in the holiday spirit with celebrating winter fashions, amazing food and live music! The store fronts are all decorated amazingly, it’s a huge turnout! Check out more info.  

2.) 124 GRAND MARKET’S HOLIDAY BIZAAR

  • COST: 2 dollars entertainment fee – kids are free under 12
  • WHEN: December 8th & 9th
  • WHERE: Old Re-Use Centre 10004-103 A Ave

 

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SOMETHING SO DELICIOUS, look at that! The Holiday Bizaar is an awesome way to get festive ideas and try different foods right here in the city. Lots of different vendors, food trucks, and even a cash bar! More info here! 

 

3.) LUMINARIA

  • COST: Adult 13.50$ – Senior 9.75$ – Children 6.25$
  • WHEN: December 1st-3rd 5-9pm
  • WHERE: U of A Botanic Gardens 5 Km North of Devon on highway 60

 

If this isn’t the definition of a winter wonderland I don’t know what is. U of A describes it as “Fire light. Star light. Thousands of candles, millions of stars and you.” THAT IS HEART MELTING. Take a walk along the beautiful Kurimoto Japanese Gardens, they’re all delicately lit with candles that will guide you throughout the paths. Enjoy ice sculptures and hot apple cider! 4.) ZOOMINESCENCE, A FESTIVAL OF LIGHT

  • COST: Adults- 7.50$ Children – 5.00$
  • WHEN: December 1st-31st 5pm-9pm
  • WHERE: Edmonton Valley Zoo

Every weekend in December you can go view a beautiful light display at the Edmonton Valley Zoo! Many of the light displays are from local Edmonton artists to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary. While you’re enjoying the beauty of the light displays, make sure you stop and visit the animals, partake in some crafts too! More info here!
