Justin Timberlake continues to make the start of 2018 a good one, musically-speaking, with the release of his brand new song, ‘Supplies’.

This just the latest offering from his forthcoming album Man of the Woods set to be released on February 2nd.

‘Supplies’ serves as the follow up to Filthy, the lead single of Man of the Woods that Justin released just a few weeks ago.

Pharrell helped produced ‘Supplies’ and It’s been awhile since the two collaborated – they worked together on his Justified album.

He explained to Beats 1’s Zane Low about why it’s taken so long for the two to work together.

“I was not able to work with Pharrell out of a … and I’ve got to say this the right way because I don’t want to blame anybody for anything, but it did change the course of things for a minute,” he explained. “Everyone remembers [the recording duo Clipse, feautred on ‘Like I Love You’]. Clipse was signed to Jive Records, which I was signed to. I don’t know what went on with their deal, but I do remember that Pharrell was very adamant about getting them out of the deal. So it became from my understanding, you know, it became challenging for him to work with any Jive artist at that point.”

“If I’m being totally honest about it, I was extremely hurt being caught up in the middle of it,” Timberlake added. “At the same time, I had a shitload of money stolen from me by somebody else when I was in the group. I had already gone legal troubles and I kind of felt like, you know what, I’m at this point where I feel like I have so much ahead of me, I don’t want to be in the middle of the record label and somebody that, you know, I consider a friend. So, I feel like I kind of removed myself from the situation.”‘

I’m really feeling this new JT record – a little more than I did with ‘Filthy’.

Loving the trap sound Justin implements in the record, it falls in line with a lot of what we are hearing in hip-hop / pop music today and the Pharrell influence is clear – it gives me ‘Rock Ya Body’ vibes. I also wish he released this as the first single.

Justin offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Man of the Woods with this teaser clip…

In the video, JT says he tried to mix in his Memphis roots into the album, “I think the album has a wide range of sonics to it, but I guess I would describe it as modern Americana with 808s.”

We already know that Man of the Woods will feature collaborations with Pharrell, Timbaland, Alicia Keys and country music superstar Chris Stapleton.
